Notice to all Enrolled Operations
Ag Order 3.0 now has an expiration date of January 31, 2021. The new date is by court order. In an email to growers, the Regional Water Board will include attachments of the stipulated agreement between parties involved in Coastkeeper et al vs. Central Coast Water Board case, as well as the judge's signed order. The attachments (below) might be confusing to some recipients, but according to counsel, they are necessary. Growers should simply continue to implement the order.
Regarding Ag Order 3.0 requirements for the remainder of its life, here is a summary:
- Continue to implement requirements in the order.
- Surface receiving water monitoring (conducted by Preservation Inc. – Cooperative Monitoring Program): CMP will continue to monitor.
- Groundwater well monitoring: There will NOT be another round required as was required in 2017.
Tier 3 ranch requirements:
- Water Quality Buffer Plans: Continue to implement, no reporting due.
- Irrigation and Nutrient Management Plans: Continue to implement, no reporting due.
- Individual discharge monitoring (edge of field): Continue to implement and report.
The exact affect this will have on the development of Ag Order 4.0 is unknown at this time. We will update as soon as more information becomes available.
