Join the San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau and Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee on Tuesday, June 10, 2007, to support the San Luis Obispo County Food Bank Coalition in raising money for the local chapter and encourage awareness for Hunger Awareness Day. In 2008, our goal is to exceed Farm Bureau's 2007 doantion of $2,800 to assist the Food Bank goal of raising more than $115,000. The campaign marks National Hunger Awareness Day, falling at the beginning of summer to remind us that hunger is a problem for our fellow citizens year ‘round, not just during the holidays.  Your support of the Food Bank Coalition will help us feed over 30,000 people in SLO County who are at risk of hunger.  Many are the elderly, and nearly half are children.  With each dollar you donate, we can purchase 15 pounds of food.
